Injection Molding

Injection molding is a method to obtain molded products by injecting plastic materials melt by heat into a mold, and then cooling and solidifying them.

The injection molding process requires the use of an injection molding machine, raw plastic material, and a mold. The plastic is melted in the injection molding machine and then injected into the mold, where it cools and solidifies into the final part.

The process of injection molding is divided into 4 major steps :
1.Plastification
2.Injection
3.Cooling
4.Demold

Injection Molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts in large volume. It is most typically used in mass-production process where the same part is being created thousands or even millions of times in succession.

Injection Molding Process, Basic Step 1: Product Design
Design is one of the most important steps of the production process because it’s the earliest opportunity to prevent expensive mistakes later on. First, determining a good idea in the first place is important, also many another objectives to be consider: function, aesthetics, manufacturability, assembly, etc. Product design is most often accomplished with computer aided design (CAD) software,(UG) software. Some specific ways to avoid costly mistakes during the product design process are to plan for uniform wall thickness whenever possible, and to gradually transition from one thickness to another when changes in thickness are not avoidable. It is also important to avoid building stress into the design, such as corners that are 90 degrees or less.

Injection Molding Process, Basic Step 2: Mold Design
After product design is confirmed, the mold needs to be designed for injection mold manufacturing. Our molds are commonly made from these types of metals:
1.Hardened steel: Typically hardened steel is generally the long lasting material to use for a mold.
2.This makes hardened steel a good material choice for products where multiple hundreds of thousands are to be produced.
3.Pre-Hardened steel: Does not last as many cycles as hardened steel, and is less expensive to create.
A good mold design need to consider very well for the mould construction and good cooling line. A good cooling can reduce the cycle time. And less cycle time bring customer more massive production, make customer again the value in business.
